Symphony Orchestra - Chorus - Chamber Choir - Concert Band

The Chorus is a non-auditioned group that is welcoming to anybody who wants to join. Throughout the year the chorus joins forces with the Symphony Orchetra to give concert. Under the leadership of conductor, Charles Peebles, recent performances have included Debussy's La Mer, Elgar's Enigma Variations and Mendelssohn's Camacho's Wedding with University College Opera.

In term two members of the chorus take to the stage with University College Opera where they have in the past gained great praise. For many members of the chorus the opera is both the highlight of the year, and often of their whole university experience. The challenges posed by putting on an opera are far outweighed by the fantastic experience of performing on stage in a London Theatre.

The chorus is organised by two elected members, the Chorus Managers. This year's managers are Katie Ferin and Cherry Ng. For queries about the chorus please contact them at . They are active members of the chorus and as well as ensuring that the rehearsals and concerts run smoothly they are are a useful point of contact between society members and the committee.

Rehearsals usually take place on Tuesday nights from 6-9pm in the Edward Lewis Lecture Theatre in the Windeyer Building. There are a few exceptions, please check our calendar, it includes details of rehearsals, concerts and perhaps most importantly socially events.

'All credit, then, to University College Opera for presenting the British premiere of Vanda, and making a huge success of it…The jewel in the University College Opera's crown is its student chorus.'
