Symphony Orchestra - Chorus - Chamber Choir - Concert Band

The Symphony Orchestra draws on UCL's finest instrumentalists to perform to a high standard. Under the leadership of conductor, Charles Peebles, our consistent high standard has helped to maintain our reputation as one of the country's best student orchestras. Recent performances have included Debussy's La Mer, Elgar's Enigma Variations and Mendelssohn's Camacho's Wedding with University College Opera.

The orchestra is organised by two elected members, the Orchestra Managers. This year's managers are Mercedes Malcomson and Han Bin Lee. For queries about the orchestra please contact them at the email address below. They are playing members in the orchestra and as well as ensuring that the rehearsals and concerts run smoothly they are are a useful point of contact between society members and the committee.

Entry to the orchestra follows an audition in the first week of term (now completed). If you are only going to attend UCL for the second term please contact the orchestra managers at

Rehearsals usually take place on Monday nights from 6-9pm in the JBR. There are a few exceptions, please check our calendar, it includes details of rehearsals, concerts and perhaps most importantly social events.
